About Bulk
Typically bulk muscle is only useful for lifting heavy objects over a certain range of motion. For tests of raw power, bulk strength is very effective. In MMA being a larger and heavier fighter can allow you to bully an opponent to an extent, but usually only in the heavyweight division. Other weight classes have such a small range of weight allowance that it would be almost impossible to bulk up enough over another fighter to be able to use those additional pounds effectively.
